Question: what is the Gospel? Can you say? Do you know?
Another question: have you eaten only once and that was good enough?
And one more: why do we The Lord’s Supper every week?
Here’s the thing. The gospel is NOT information that you can learn and then possess forever. The gospel is first and last Christ’s love for you and your love for him. The gospel is a relationship. You do not just eat once and . . . done. You do not just tell you kids you love them once and . . . good enough. Love is not a fact that you can just hand to someone and then the possess it. Love is not mathematics. Love is only known if it shows up, day after day after day.
So it is with you and I, my Friends. The Gospel cannot be known unless we keep seeing each other. Loving each other. Meeting on Sundays. Meeting in the week. There is no love without YOU. And there is no Gospel without love.
