Father Tom has been at Saint Paul’s since 2016. He's not from Texas, but he got here as fast as he could! Born and raised in Buffalo, prior to coming to Prosper, he only lived in snowy northern towns (Chicago, Boston, Toronto). But he does not miss the snow one bit!

He grew up Roman Catholic in Irish South Buffalo. But also spent many years in Baptist/Non-denominational circles.

He did his undergraduate degree at Moody Bible in Chicago. Then he continued studying Greek and Hebrew at Gordon-Conwell in Boston taking an MA in New Testament and an MA in Old Testament. At the University of Toronto, he completed his Ph.D. in Old Testament studying how the Bible was used during the Civil War.

In Toronto, he served as an assistant priest and youth minister until he came to Saint Paul’s where he leads our church and school. His wife, Kate, is also a priest and serves at Saint Paul’s. They have three children 20, 17, and 15. He loves Prosper, but he also remains a faithful Bills fan.

CLIFF THOMPSON

Music Director

Email: cliff@stpaulsprosper.org

I’m a North Texas native. My wife, Janelle, and I have lived on the 380 “corridor” since 2005. We grew up in a different Christian tradition but shortly before our son was born, God showed us the beauty of liturgical worship through an Anglican wedding. This set us on the path to Confirmation and eventually brought us to St. Paul’s. Here we’ve grown from simply seeing the beauty of the liturgy to understanding what it means to live a Eucharistic life.

I believe music is a crucial and inescapable part of being human. We are created to worship and that inevitably involves music. I’m privileged to have been part of music at St. Paul’s from early on. The musicians and vocalists here at St. Paul’s joyfully offer up our musical talents to complete the expression of worship laid out in our liturgy and preaching. We hope those who join us experience modern worship set in ancient tradition.
